Boro were beaten by their play-off rivals in National North on Boxing Day.
Going into the clash, with over 1,500 in attendance at Bridlington Town's Mounting Systems Stadium, Boro and visitors Darlington occupied the last two play-off spots in the division.
A closely-fought contest was settled by one first half-strike.
Midway through the first period, the away side, roared on by over 600 travelling fans, netted the only goal of the game to claim a 1-0 victory.
Boro stay in the National North play-off places but drop below Darlington after the defeat.
Boss Jono Greening spoke to SAFC TV at the final whistle and revealed more of the Seadogs' injury woes:
"Obviously disappointed to lose the game. I think it was always going to come down to one goal and probably a set play and they got it.
"I think we switched off at a near-post corner, the guy who was supposed to be marking the space was taken out, they put it in a really good area. It's a really good corner, to be fair.
"And they've obviously worked on it. They get across the front post and they glance it in and they won the goal, went 1-0 up. I think before that, it was a really even game on a really a difficult pitch to play on. And I think if that hadn't gone in and it goes to half-time [at 0-0], it probably would've been a fair result at half time. Second half, I think we played a little bit better on the pitch. I thought Greeny, he caused them more problems. We got a couple of injuries again [Rio Allan and Richie Bennett], but we didn't really make the keeper make any saves."
Boro visit Spennymoor, on Tuesday, in their next outing, in National North.
Kick-off is 7.45pm and there's live commentary on This Is The Coast Extra.
