As the England Women's team prepare for their Euro 22 fixture against Norway tomorrow, Scarborough Athletic are launching a girls football programme.
The SAFC Girls Football Development Programme will be integrated into Scarborough Athletic Community Development programme and will offer equal opportunities to young female footballers from around the region, in line with those already in place with the Club’s Boys Academy Programme.
The scheme will initially be open to 6 to 10 year olds in the town.
Gail Colling is working on the Youth Football Development programme.
The programme will offer weekly training sessions and aims to produce teams to play in local leagues.
Gail Colling says with the England Women's team currently playing in the Euro's there is a lot of interest in Girls football.
Gail says the programme will initially be ope open to girls aged 6-10, but that they hope to expand the offering in the future
