Boro are back at the Mounting Systems Stadium, Bridlington, for the visit of South Shields, on Tuesday.
The Seadogs are outside the play-offs on goal difference only.
Manager Jono Greening spoke to SAFC TV ahead of the clash.
He revealed the club were looking at bringing in another young player on loan and a possible free transfer.
It's after recent knocks to Luca Colville- and a heart-breaking recurrence of Lewis Maloney's hamstring injury on Saturday:
"Yeah. Listen, it is gut wrenching because he's just started performing really well to, to the levels we know that Lew can do. Every single player loves him. Me and the staff all love him. I think all the fans all love him.
"Hopefully it's not too bad, it's just a little twinge, but he knew straight away that if he'd carried on, he would've tore it. But he's had incredibly bad luck over the last couple of years of injuries. And I think, like I said, it's just getting back to that level of what everybody remembers, where he is all over the pitch. He's spraying passes, he's controlling the tempo, he looks dangerous on set plays and he is a really infectious character. Hopefully it's not a bad one and he can be back in a week or two."
Greening was also asked how Shields might feel about a potentially heavy surface at The Mounting Systems Stadium after weeks of rain:
" Yeah it is what it is. I'm sure the players will turn up and have a look at it and think we might have to change our game a little bit. But we know they're a top team with really good players, a really good manager and top of the league on merit and probably one of the best football sides in our division.
"Yeah, it'll be a great game."
Kick-off is 7.45pm.
