Scarborough Athletic Face Final Pre-Season Test At Harrogate Town

Scarborough Athletic will travel to recently-relegated Harrogate Town for their final pre-season friendly before the new National North campaign begins.

Final pre-season preparations will conclude for Scarborough Athletic this weekend with a challenging away fixture.

The squad will travel to face recently-relegated National League side Harrogate Town on Saturday.

Vital match fitness and tactical adjustments will take priority during the game, as the club gears up for the start of the National North campaign on Saturday the 8th of August.

Boro boss Jono Greening believes the clash at Harrogate will serve as ideal preparation for the upcoming league season, despite the team currently dealing with a reduced squad size.

Jono Greening said:

"Yeah, final preseason friendly. Obviously shorter numbers. We should have three or four players back for Saturday, fingers crossed, and yeah, we'll be using the game to get minutes in the legs, trying a few different things out, and then, you know, the final two training sessions next, next week on Tuesday and Thursday leading into the game against South Shields."

The return of up to four players is expected to boost the squad for the Harrogate trip, allowing the management team to test new strategies on the pitch.

Two final training sessions will follow on Tuesday and Thursday next week, providing the last opportunity to refine tactics before competitive football returns.

The new National North season will officially begin for Scarborough Athletic with their opening match against South Shields.
