Jono Greening felt his side should have had a penalty for handball as they missed a chance to return to the National North play-off places.
Boro were held 0-0 by struggling Hereford.
The same side they beat just ten days ago in the West Midlands.
Greening told SAFC TV his side should've had a spot-kick early on:
"I could see it clearly. He's pushed the ball with his hand. The referee obviously doesn't give it, which kills us really and gives them a little bit of momentum because, they get the early decision.
"The only way they were going to score was a counter-attack or a long throw of the ball into the box which the keeper kept pelting in.
We put [Alex Wiles] Wilesy on and we weren't supposed to, to be honest with you. But we've had that feeling that maybe he might nick a goal in the last ten minutes. And he had a great chance, to be fair, where it's fallen to him on the edge of the box, but he hit it over and then Luca [Colville] has a really good chance at the end, on his left foot, you think he'll smash it in the top bin and he's caught it well, but too low. And he obviously got blocked. But, we huffed and puffed we never gave in. We tried to get the extra goal to get us the win, but unfortunately we couldn't get it. "
Boro stay eighth in National North.
They're a point away from the division's play-off places, ahead of a trip to Oxford City on Saturday.
