It's good news for the people of Esk Valley. That's the view of Scarborough and Whitby's MP on changes to heather burning laws.
Here's Alison Hume after the announcement of changes by her Labour colleagues:
"The government have just announced restrictions on Heather Burning, which will mean that Heather, that is over 30 centimetres, can't be burned as opposed to 40 centimetres, and I'm going to be looking at the proposals very carefully and talking to more than management about that."
It comes just weeks after the Langdale Fire operation finally winding down.
Ms Hume says she'll look into the decision, adding:
"It's good news for my constituents who are in Esk Valley, who have the smoke descending on them. But there's also an argument around the management of heather moors, and I'm going to be looking into that."
