Volunteers from Saint Catherine's are being deployed to help run the new COVID vaccination centre at Scarborough Rugby Club.
The centre is offering vaccinations to patients from eight Scarborough and Filey GP practices, it was set up following collaboration between the Rugby Club, Scarborough Borough Council and the GP practices.
Tracy Calcraft from Saint Catherine's says the volunteers are doing what they can to help the medical professionals.
Tracy says the speed at which the centre has been set up is impressive
Volunteer Helen Neal said:
“It feels really good to be able to help out. This is my first day and it’s really well organised.”
There will be four-hour shifts available, between the hours of 8am and 8pm, seven days a week.
Volunteers, old and new, can register their interest and ask for more details by emailing vaccinevolunteers@saintcatherines.org.uk
Any local businesses who would like to support the effort by donating refreshments, biscuits or snacks for the volunteers can email this address and leave their details.
