Rugby Returns to the Yorkshire Coast

Scarborough, Bridlington and Whitby were back in rugby union action on Saturday.

The new season has brought Scarborough and Bridlington to the same division.

In RFU Region 2 North East, Boro beat Derbyshire's Dronfield 31-25, in an opening day victory, at Silver Royd.

Scarborough head coach Matty Jones spoke to Charlie Hopper after the game:

Bridlington were beaten 38-6 at Selby.

While Whitby had a convincing victory in Durham & Northumberland Division Two.

They saw off Barnard Castle 40-10 at White Leys Road.
