In RFU Region 2 North East, Boro beat Derbyshire's Dronfield 31-25, in an opening day victory, at Silver Royd.

Bridlington were beaten 38-6 at Selby.
While Whitby had a convincing victory in Durham & Northumberland Division Two.
They saw off Barnard Castle 40-10 at White Leys Road.
