Roadworks to Start Near Burton Fleming

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced that carriageway repairs are scheduled to begin on the C7 between the North Yorkshire County boundary & Burton Fleming on Monday, 15 February.

It is anticipated that the works will take up to 16 weeks to complete, weather permitting, at a cost of £700,000.

The work involves carriageway patching, carriageway widening, resurfacing, drainage and kerbing works.

The works have been phased, starting at the North Yorkshire County Boundary and working west to east along the route.

The first phase from 15 February involves carriageway patching along Foxholes Road & Butt Lane; these works will be carried out under temporary traffic signal control. This phase is scheduled to last for three weeks.

Phase two involves some structural repairs and resurfacing to Laking Lane, Bridlington Road and Burton Fleming Road. These works will be under a road closure with a signed traffic diversion. This phase is due to begin on 8 March, and is scheduled to last for one week.

Phase three involves carriageway widening and structural repairs to Wold Newton Road, Burton Fleming. These works will also be carried out under a road closure with a signed traffic diversion. This phase is due to begin on 15 March, and is scheduled to last for 12 weeks.

During Phases Two and Three, access to Wold Newton village will be via the B1249 at Foxholes.

The council’s Streetscene services are to carry out the works.

An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said :

“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience to motorists and local residents caused by these essential works, but would like to assure motorists that they will see significant improvements when they are completed.”
