There's good news for gardeners and swimmers in East Riding.
The leader of the local authority there has revealed two free local initiatives to help children and the environment.
Despite government funding being tightened for the region.
Ann Handley says this half term will see free swimming lessons for East Riding youngsters:
"We are also pleased to continue the £30,000 compost giveaway, supporting our efforts for a greener, more sustainable community.
"This initiative is a testament to our commitment to the environment and to provide impractical benefits for our residents."
She further outlined the return of the swim saving too:
"The free swimming for young people during school holidays has been an enormous success and I am delighted to confirm the continuation of this.
"This initiative promotes health and wellbeing and ensures that every child has the opportunity to be active, make memories, and enjoy our excellent facilities."
