Both Ramshill Road and Northway in Scarborough are CLOSED to traffic in both directions, with Police on the scene.
The area between Royal Avenue and Royal Crescent Lane / St. Martin's Place is cordoned off.
Traffic heading away from town is diverting using West Street.
Vehicles coming into town are turning down Westbourne Grove.
There is also a broken down HGV on Ramshill Road near the junction of Prince Of Wales Terrace.
North Yorkshire Police have also confirmed Northway is closed between the Stephen Joseph Theatre and the police station:
Please be aware there are the following road closures in place in Scarborough whilst we deal with an incident:
Ramshill Road, closed from junction of St Martin's Place up to and including the junction of Royal Avenue
On North Way, from the traffic lights to the police station
Please avoid these areas if you can, and use alternative routes where possible while emergency services work at the scene.
