Police Kit on Show at Community Day in Bridlington

Police in Bridlington will be showing off their all terrain vehicles at a community event in the town today.

The rural task force will be taking part in the event at the lifeboat station which will also involve Fire service, the RSPCA and the RNLI.

Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Evison is keen for local people to see the kit the Rural Policing team now has and hear about the impact it's made.

Humberside Police and the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner are teaming up with colleagues and partners at the Bridlington RNLI, to host an informative open event on Friday 16 February, from 10am – 4pm at the Bridlington Lifeboat Station

And as part of the day visitors will see:

  • Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner and Humberside Police talking about Operation Coastline and forthcoming activity.
  • Our Rural Task Force team showcasing their powerful all-terrain vehicles, imaging scopes, sharing information about how the team respond to, prevent and target rural crime.
  • Colleagues from the Bridlington Neighbourhood Policing Team discussing their work locally, answering questions and offering advice to help you protect your property.
  • The local Bridlington RNLI team are central to the open station day showcasing their brand-new Shannon Class lifeboat, as they celebrate their 200th year anniversary.
  • Humberside Fire and Rescue Service showcasing their equipment
  • RSPCA will be hosting plenty of exciting and informative activities too!

The Police and Crime Commissioner says that he will also be sharing news about the new Operation Coastline and what more the public can expect from Humberside Police to continue to tackle crime in coastal areas over the months ahead into the summer period.

Assistant Chief Constable Lisa Hogan said:

“This is an incredible engagement opportunity with our community to showcase everything our Rural Crime Team are doing, and to also talk about Operation Coastline and the activity that will be forthcoming over the next few months.

Under this operation our priority will be supporting our coastal communities through the summer months, managing the influx of tourists and visitors, and tackling criminality.

You will see high visibility patrolling and disruption activity; as always we will not rest in taking action against those that seek to harm our communities.”

Water Safety and Fundraising Officer Bob Taylor, from the Bridlington RNLI team said:

“We are pleased to be hosting the Rural Task Force & Partner Agencies for an open day at Bridlington Lifeboats Station, we have been trying to pull one of these together for a while, working in conjunction with Humberside Police we have finally made it happen.”

The Rural Policing Team have recently had a significant investment in new kit, including all-terrain vehicles which are are used to access hard to reach areas.

Police and Crime Commissioner - Jonathan Evison - says the new kit has had a real impact.
