North Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal for information regarding a theft that took place in Filey on Tuesday, 7 October 2025.
The incident occurred at approximately 09:33 am on West Road, where several items of scrap metal were stolen.
The stolen goods, valued at around £300, included brass taps, aluminium secondary glazing, brass door handles, brass letter boxes, and copper piping. Authorities are particularly keen to identify two suspects who were seen leaving the scene in a white Transit van.
Descriptions of the suspects have been released to the public. The first suspect is described as a white male, of average build, standing around 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was reportedly wearing a grey and black baseball cap, a black and blue jacket, black trousers, and black trainers.
The second suspect, also a white male of average build, is estimated to be aged between 25 and 35 years, and is similarly described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall with short brown hair. He was dressed in a grey and black tracksuit jacket, black trousers, and black trainers. Both individuals were noted to be wearing white gloves.
