Pickering Town lost narrowly to highflying Bradford side Albion Sports at Mill Lane.
The visitors scored twice in quick succession early on to race into a 2-0 lead.
Nathan Dyer then pulled one back with a fine finish just after the half hour.
However there was to be no leveller for the Pikes.
Bottom club Maltby Main's 0-0 draw with Emley means they can't finish above Pickering, so Pikes now know they're safe from relegation.
Pickering host Emley in Northern Counties East Premier on Tuesday night, with a 7.45pm kick-off, before ending the season at Rossington on Saturday.
