Pikes won 3-2 at home to Huddersfield side Golcar United in the Northern Counties East Premier Division.
It keeps Tony Hackworth's men unbeaten.
They took the lead after a 17th minute own goal at Mill Lane on Tuesday night.
George Brown then grabbed a crucial second, two minutes before half-time.
Their West Yorkshire opponents hit back on the hour.
Souleymane Coulibaly looked to have put the result beyond doubt with a third, for Pikes, six minutes from time.
However, the West Yorkshire visitors made for a nervous close to the game after grabbing a second in the last minute, but Pickering held out.
Pikes go to Bradford side Campion next Tuesday.
