Pickering Musical Society is preparing to take its final bow as it brings Hello, Dolly! to the Kirk Theatre stage this June.
Running from Tuesday 10th to Saturday 14th June, with a matinee performance on Saturday 14th at 2:30 PM, this production will be the Society’s last-ever musical, marking the end of an incredible era of more than 100 years of musical theatre in Pickering.
Set in New York City at the turn of the century, Hello, Dolly! follows the irrepressible Dolly Gallagher Levi—a widow, matchmaker, and professional meddler—who decides it’s time to find a match for herself. Packed with charm, humour, and show-stopping numbers like “Before the Parade Passes By,” “It Only Takes a Moment,” “Put on Your Sunday Clothes,” and the legendary “Hello, Dolly!”, this final production promises to be a dazzling farewell.

Bringing this Broadway classic to life is a stellar cast led by Rachel Anderson as the charismatic Dolly Levi, with Michael O’Brien as Horace Vandergelder. Pickering stage favourites Marcus Burnside and Stephen Temple take on the comedic duo Cornelius Hackl and Barnaby Tucker, joined by Paula Cook as Irene Molloy, Danielle Long as Minnie Fay, Courtney Brown as Ermengarde, and John Brooks as Rudolph Reisenweber.
With Luke Arnold directing and Clive Wass leading the musical direction, Hello, Dolly! is set to be a grand and emotional send-off for Pickering Musical Society’s rich tradition of musical theatre.
This year’s production of Hello, Dolly! will be the final musical staged by Pickering Musical Society. Due to rising production costs and a decline in membership, the Society has made the difficult decision to bring its musical productions to an end.

However, it’s not all bad news. The Society’s annual pantomime, which has grown in popularity in recent years, will continue to thrive, and the October concert, a staple of the local theatre calendar, will move into the June slot from next year.
