North Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Wants New CCTV Plan

North Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner wants to see a more unified approach to providing CCTV in the county.

Philip Allott says good CCTV can be a real help to the emergency services.

He thinks the current set up in the county is haphazard:

He feels CCTV cameras across north Yorkshire need to be updated and the monitoring of them should be centralised.

The commissioner added the current system is too fragmented with no single organisation overseeing the county's cameras:
