North Yorkshire Health Leaders call for Common Sense as Lockdown Restrictions Eased

For the first time in months, people can socialise indoors and hug friends and family again as England reaches Step 3 of the Government's roadmap out of lockdown.

As the lockdown rules are further eased today, North Yorkshire's director of public health is asking everyone to continue making sensible decisions.

Louise Wallace says the easing is welcome but dangers remain.

People on the Yorkshire Coast can meet outdoors in groups of up to 30 - and indoors, up to six individuals - or two households - can get together.

The new rules also mean children's play areas, concert halls and sports stadiums can reopen, as can hotels.

North Yorkshire's director of public health has thanked residents for their help in driving down the COVID infection rate in the county,

On the day that lockdown restrictions are eased further Louise Wallace says good progress has been made.
