Work will start today to replace the council owned Belvedere chalets in Bridlington.
The existing chalets, located on the south beach towards the end of the promenade, are being removed and replaced with brand new ones of the same type, in shades of blue and white, designed to give them a seaside feel.
The work to replace the 20 chalets in this location is scheduled to take about a week. The Belvedere chalets are booked up until June, after which there is some availability.
Kirsty Salisbury, general manager, coastal, said:
“We felt it would be a great idea to boost what we can offer in Bridlington by renewing these chalets, and I am delighted that we can upgrade these facilities, offer an even better experience, and help to keep the town on the map for visitors all year round.”
To book the chalets from June onwards, email foreshores@eastriding.gov.uk or call the Coastal Services team on 01262 678255.
