The Humberside Police Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a significant operation on Saturday aimed at tackling drug-related offences within local licensed premises.
Working alongside Handler Danny and his trusted drugs dog, Duke, officers visited several public houses in Hornsea, Brandesburton, North Frodingham, and Driffield.
The initiative was part of ongoing efforts to address community concerns regarding drug use and trafficking in public venues.
A spokesperson for the Neighbourhood Policing Team said,
“The operation aimed to address community concerns, deter criminal activity, and reinforce the message that drugs will not be tolerated in local venues.”

By carrying out these proactive visits, the team hopes to reassure residents that they are listening to their concerns and taking meaningful action to ensure public safety.
The team added:
“Operations like this are an important part of our commitment to protecting our communities,
We want the public to feel reassured that we are working hard, both visibly and behind the scenes, to tackle drug-related activity and maintain safe spaces for everyone.”
The Neighbourhood Policing Team reiterated their commitment to continue similar initiatives in response to community feedback and emerging intelligence. This operation underscores the ongoing dedication of local law enforcement to create safer environments for all residents and visitors.
As the team moves forward, they remain focused on reinforcing the message that drug-related activities will not be tolerated, "ensuring that the community can enjoy their local venues without the threat of illegal substances".
