The English National Outdoor Tug of War Championships get underway in Bridlington today.
The teams will be competing at Bridlington Rugby Club with the hope of winning the event and going on to represent England at the World Championships in Switzerland in September. The winning teams will also qualify for the British and Irish Championships that are being held in Scotland in August.
Press Officer at the Tug of War Championships - Alan Knott - says that the teams on show today have put a lot of hard work in to prepare for the event.
Teams from all over England will take part in the event, including some who represented England at the 2022 World Championships in the Netherlands, where the England team came away with 2 silver and 3 bronze medals from the international events with these medals being won by England's junior, under 23 and senior teams.
Alan Knott says that the different teams will use a wide range of tactics in order to win.
