North Yorkshire Police say they have managed to recruit an extra 44 people for the force control room.
The recruitment drive is aimed at helping to increase capacity in the control room and speed up call answer times.
Chief Constable - Lisa Winward - says the campaign has provided a real boost.
Figures released in December show that the average amount of time it takes the police to answer a 999 call in North Yorkshire is the second slowest in the country.
While over half of 999 calls are answered within 10 seconds, some take as long as 2 minutes. Some calls to North Yorkshire Police's 101 line are taking up to an hour to answer.
North Yorkshire's Chief Constable is confident that problems staffing the force control room will be addressed by a recent recruitment drive.
Chief Constable - Lisa Winward - says the recruitment drive will continue.
