Experienced thirty-four-year-old midfielder Adam Gell has committed his future to Whitby Town after agreeing to a new contract ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.
Midfielder Adam Gell has officially committed his future to Whitby Town after agreeing to a new deal ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.
The experienced thirty-four-year-old originally returned to the Seasiders in September 2024 following a spell with Bishop Auckland.
During the last season, Gell made thirty-three appearances for the club as the Seasiders successfully secured their Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division status.
Their survival in the division was confirmed following a crucial final-day draw against Cleethorpes Town.
After rejoining the club, Gell quickly re-established himself as a key figure in the midfield.
He memorably found the back of the net on his return, scoring in Whitby’s impressive 6-2 victory over Hebburn Town on the very night he re-joined the team.
This upcoming season will add to his extensive history with the club.
Gell is currently in his fourth spell with Whitby Town and has made over 350 appearances for the Seasiders across his various stints.
Speaking after signing the contract extension, Adam Gell said:
"I am delighted to remain at the Towbar Express Stadium and looking forward to another season under manager Lee Bullock and assistant Denny Ingram."
Whitby Town manager Lee Bullock said:
"His influence is felt both on and off the pitch, and I must highlight his commitment and importance during the club’s fight for survival last season."
