The drive to get visitors to the Yorkshire Coast this summer received a boost today with the official reopening of the North Yorkshire Water park.
The team at the water park have organised a media day with reporters from across Yorkshire attending the event.
Manager Gareth Davies thinks it will be good exposure for the park and the area in general.
He spoke to Paddy about the opening event.
Former Team GB athlete Rocco Burbidge performed the opening ceremony as part of a professional demonstration of the newly installed Wakeboarding line. Rocco told Paddy that the ceremony will be a bit more complicated than just cutting a ribbon.
A major investment programme during the lockdowns has seen the park add the all-new wake boarding line, along with kickers and rails, allowing visitors to expand their skills with experienced instructors.
In addition, new buildings house a new café and decking viewing area by the lake. The new lakeside buildings is also a modern central facility which will become the base for customers arriving at the park to use both the fishing and water park amenities.
