Two suspected shoplifters have been excluded from North Yorkshire.
A man and a woman from Middlesbrough were arrested on Sunday afternoon on suspicion of shop theft from the B&M store on Stainsacre Lane in Whitby.
North Yorkshire Police say:
"Following a call from the store at just before 2:30pm on Sunday 28th April 2024, officers stopped a white Audi on Mayfield Road where the suspects were arrested.
Enquiries are currently ongoing and both suspects have been released on bail, with conditions not to enter North Yorkshire.
The vehicle was also seized for being used in crime."
A number of retail premises in Whitby have recently formed a new 'Shop Watch' scheme to tackle shoplifting in the town.
