Mark Starkey is walking over 44 miles in aid of St Catherine's Hospice.
Mark says the walk is envisaged to take a minimum of 14 hours to complete and will begin from Scarborough Craft Bar, before heading along the cinder track to Whitby.
Mark told This Is The Coast:
'I will finish the walk at Scarborough Talk Bar, before having celebratory drinks and a little food at Valley Bar on Valley Road.
'My fundraising target is £500, but I am hoping to smash that. Hopefully off the back of being a local DJ and being generally well known in the town.'
He added that his Mother Joan passed away 15 years ago in St Catherines Hospice, saying he's amazed by the work hospices do.
He also lost his father Phillip and is doing the walk on behalf of both his parents.
