Today is your final opportunity to support the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in a national competition.
Voting for the coveted Steam Railway Magazine Award end's this evening.
Ten projects have been shortlisted for the award which will be presented at the Heritage Railway Association’s awards ceremony later this year and a North Yorkshire Moors Railway project is among them.
The railway has been nominated for it's project creating a purpose-built carriage stable at Pickering. The £4 million carriage stable was built to enable the NYMR to better care for it's heritage carriages and allow servicing and cleaning to be undertaken under cover for the first time. The project is one of the major elements of the railway's Yorkshire's Magnificent Journey Appeal.
The five track single-storey carriage shed, featuring a cantilevered roof, can accommodate up to 40 of the railway’s heritage carriages.
Steam Railway Magazine say :
"This is about celebrating the preservation movement’s finest achievements in a year that has continued to test the resolve and strength of our industry. This is the only HRA award decided by readers, so make sure your voice is heard and vote."
