The annual fundraising day for Saint Catherine's will see teams from the Hospice, The Scarborough Business Ambassadors and This is the Coast visit hundreds of local business to collect your coins!
The idea of Bring a Pound to Work Day is as simple as it sounds – businesses across the local area encourage their teams to ‘bring a pound to work’ and all the proceeds go towards helping Saint Catherine’s look after patients and their families, both in the hospice and at home.
Susan Stephenson from saint Catherine's says the day has a real impact on their fundraising.
The event is once again being supported by Scarborough Business Ambassadors who are helping provide people and vehicles to help collect coins from along the Yorkshire Coast.
Susan says it's great to have them involved.
Saint Catherine's need to raise £8,000 a day to fund their services on the Yorkshire Coast. Last year's event raised just over £5000 for the charity. Hundreds of local businesses took part in the day, with staff members taking a pound to work.
Last year's event was the first to include methods for donating online and via SMS text message. Both methods are available again this year, Susan Stephenson says that's a great way to ensure people who may now be working from home can take part in the event.
