Increase in Demand for PCR Tests in North Yorkshire

NHS say Scarborough testing site will now stay until September

With an increase in the number of people being pinged by the NHS COVID app there has been an increase in the number of people booking PCR tests.

The tests which are more accurate than the home lateral flow tests are being delivered at a number of centres including the William Street car park in Scarborough which switched back to full time PCR testing a few weeks ago.

Public Health Consultant Dr Victoria Turner says the site will remain in use for the foreseeable future.

With the increase in demand for testing slots, Dr Victoria Turner has this advice for people trying to book a test.
