Hornsea Dancing For Town's Lifesavers

Hornsea Ceilidh Band is holding a fundraising dance to support Hornsea’s independent lifeboat.

The big summer Ceilidh (barn dance) at Hornsea’s Floral Hall, in aid of Hornsea Inshore Rescue who depend on public donations to keep them afloat, is on Saturday.

An evening of traditional live music and folk dancing is promised with the extra feel-good factor of supporting the town’s life-saving inshore rescue service as all profits from the event are to be donated to them. Doors and bar opens 7pm, dancing starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10 each, CASH ONLY, available direct from the Floral Hall café (north beach) or from the Boathouse café (south beach), or you can email hornseafolkdance@gmail.com.

Organisers Hornsea Ceilidh Band will be playing live music alongside VIP guests the Peak District-based Well Dressed Band, who are all donating their time and skills for free.

Toe-tapping tunes including reels, jigs, polkas and hornpipes from around the British Isles, Canada and Scandinavia, will get people do-si-do-ing and hop-stepping around the dance floor.

No previous experience is needed as the caller will explain all the steps for every dance, so everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. Folk dancing is friendly and inclusive, suitable for all ages and abilities, everyone is welcome. Flat shoes are recommended for dancing.

Raffle prizes are being sought – to donate, please contact Alison on 01964 533957.
