Home COVID testing is playing a vital role in driving down the infection rate on the Yorkshire Coast.
Lateral Flow Testing has been rolled out to enable people without COVID symptoms to regularly test themselves at home to ensure they aren't asymptomatic.
One of North Yorkshire's public health consultants believes that the testing is playing a major role in preventing COVID outbreaks on the Yorkshire Coast.
Dr Victoria Turner says without the public's continued support of home testing it's likely we would have already seen more outbreaks locally.
The advice from the government is that ff you do not have COVID symptoms, you are still encouraged to test yourself twice a week, using rapid lateral flow tests for you to conduct at home.
Dr Victoria Turner who says the at home testing has helped identify cases that would otherwise have gone undetected.
