Hidden Disability Lanyards Returning to Yorkshire Coast for Lockdown Easing

As more people head back outside from today, Dementia Forward are bringing back their sunflower lanyards to help people who find the changes difficult.

This week is Dementia Awareness week, and the Chief Exec of north Yorkshire charity Dementia Forward, Jillian Quinn, says the easing of lockdown restrictions today will help them to reconnect with their users, some of whom have been very isolated during the lockdown periods.

Dementia Forward says it's going to be handing out hidden disability lanyards this week as the lock down restrictions are eased.

The lanyards were introduced during the first lockdown to help flag up that some people couldn't wear facemasks or might not understand the social distancing rules.

Jillian Quinn from dementia Forward says the lanyards have a significant role to play now people are heading back out.
