Whitby and Scarborough's rugby sides were well beaten on Saturday but Bridlington bucked the trend in style.
Old Brodleians came away with a comprehensive 54-10 victory over Matty Jones' Scarborough side, at Hipperholme, near Halifax.
It was a tale of two halves, with the first half seeing Old Brods put Scarborough under immense pressure- going 21 points up, with Scarborough only getting a penalty, just before half-time.
A couple of refereeing decisions didnt go Scarborough's way, with high tackles here and there, giving the home side the chance to pile on the pressure. That's what they did and they go up to second place in North One East, with Scarborough dropping to 8th.
Aaron Thompson scored the visitors' only try with a well-taken score in the corner. Scarborough were lethargic, missed tackles and made plenty of errors and they have now suffered back-to-back defeats.
Whitby also suffered, in Durham & Northumberland Division Two.
It's been a difficult season so far for the White Leys Road club who were well beaten at Blackwell Meadows, Darlington, on Saturday.
With players still coming back from injury, Whitby suffered a 73-21 reverse in County Durham.
Bridlington were in fine form, however, in Yorkshire One North, they thumped Huddersfield YMCA.
Brid came away with an impressive 58-8 success in West Yorkshire.
