The giant Trojan Horse has been created by Animated Objects at Bridlington Spa over the weekend as part of the Odyssey Project.
Today a specialist surveyor has been on site in the Royal Hall taking official measurements ready to be sent off to the Guinness World Records to have the creation verified as the largest cardboard sculpture in the world.
Part of 'The Odyssey - An Epic Adventure on the Yorkshire Coast’ - A Yorkshire Coast BID project, it's been created and delivered by Animated Objects with help from a raft of volunteers on site.
And around 2,000 people descended on Bridlington Spa over the weekend to see the sculpture and take part in a number of activities which included workshops, storytelling, artist stalls, face painting and film showings.
All the cardboard is being recycled locally.
Dawn from Animated Objects told us what was needed to break the record:
"We think we're on track to beat the world record. We have had independent witnesses, we've had to film the whole build from no cardboard to what is now a giant horse and we've sent that all along with witness statements. In about 14 days we should find out if we're successful. From our estimations we think we have beaten the current record holder by about 2 metres".
