The Environment Agency say the the flood alert is for the North Sea coast from Staithes to Whitby including the tidal River Esk for tomorrow morning's tide, Tuesday 13th September 2022, between 6.15am and 6.45am.
The Agency say:
"A high spring tide and onshore winds are likely to produce overtopping waves and spray along the coast. The particular area at risk is New Quay Road in Whitby.
