Whitby's fire crew attended a chimney fire at a house in Stainsacre late on Saturday night.
It happened at 10.30pm.
Crews used a hose reel jet, hearth kit, chimney rods and small tools to extinguish the fire.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots and a positive pressure fan ventilated the property.
A ‘Safe & Well’ visit was carried out and advice given to the occupants.
The cause of the fire was due to an accumulation of soot.
