The railway say Friday's services will run as scheduled.
North Yorkshire Moors Railway say a a lineside fire broke out today (21st April 2022) at around 1 o'clock on the stretch of line between Goathland and Levisham Stations.
The railway say that the fire service are in attendance and have iinstructed the NYMR to stop all running services for the time being.
The NYMR say:
"The heritage railway is doing everything we can to fully cooperate with the emergency services, taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our staff and passengers, which is always our priority.
Services for Friday 22 April will go ahead as planned. Please note the 0920 'Seaside Special' from Pickering is now fully booked."
