The group say their annual fireworks event won't be taking place this year.
It had been hoped that the event would take place on November 6th at the West Avenue car park in the town but now the Lions say they are sad to announce that their Annual Bonfire will not be going ahead this year.
They say :
"We considered just having a firework display but thought that without a fire and the various stalls it wouldn't be the same. Safety is paramount in these cases and due to covid still on the rise in the Borough and the UK as a whole it was thought prudent not to go ahead.
Other large events in the UK inevitably led to large increases in infections and we do not want to take that risk.
We apologise for this and look forward to a safer 2022"
