Fallen Trees Turned into Art Works in Bridlington

Woodcarver Allen Stichler has completed work on seven logs from a fallen beech tree near the putting green at Sewerby Hall and Gardens

The completed logs are all on a wildlife theme, and include puffins, dolphins, gannets, fish, crabs, and seals.

This is the latest phase of Allen’s work on the site; he had already transformed the wood from the monkey puzzle tree which fell in the severe weather of March, 2018 into 13 new wood panels, which are also on display in the gardens at the venue.

Allen is an artist based in North Lincolnshire who specialises in unique hand-carved wood sculptures.

General manager Marie Gascoigne said :

“I am delighted that Allen was able to come back to us, to complete his job and to make our gardens look even more stunning. These amazing carvings are a really great addition to the gardens here!"

Allen Stichler added :

“The visitors to Sewerby Hall and Gardens have been enthusiastic throughout the process and have been both supportive and interested in its development from the start; thanks to all of them and the Sewerby Hall and Gardens staff for making it all so enjoyable!”

The grounds and gardens are free to explore, with additional charges applying in the Zoo and House. Pre booking is advised via the Sewerby Hall website www.sewerbyhall.co.uk
