A gruelling 34.3-mile ultra-marathon challenge awaits a Scarborough employment adviser this October.
Hannah Clarke is taking on the immense physical and mental test to raise funds for The Rainbow Centre and inspire the local community.
The trail run, which spans 55.4 kilometres, goes significantly beyond the traditional marathon distance of 26.2 miles. Months of dedicated training, immense physical and mental strength, and an unwavering commitment to achieving a goal are required to complete the event.

For the Scarborough-based adviser, the upcoming race represents much more than just a running challenge. It is a personal journey of self-belief and discipline, designed to prove that anything is possible with determination and focus.
By pushing herself far beyond her comfort zone, the runner hopes her efforts will resonate with everyone, particularly the participants she supports daily through her employment advice role. She wants to demonstrate that ambitious goals can be achieved through consistent work, perseverance, and resilience.
Hannah Clarke said:
"You can achieve great things in life if you put your mind to it."
Crucial sponsorship money and awareness will go towards The Rainbow Centre as a result of the October 2026 ultra-marathon. The charity has expressed deep gratitude for the fundraising campaign and the dedication shown towards the cause.
Fundraising Officer James Howard said:
"Thank you so much for raising awareness and sponsorship for The Rainbow Centre Hannah. Your dedication to this event is very much appreciated and we look forward to hearing all about it! Thank you!"
Community members can back the ultra-marathon effort and leave messages of support through a dedicated JustGiving page set up for the challenge. https://www.justgiving.com/page/hannah-ultra-marathon-rainbow
