After a three-year absence, the prestigious European Blackball Pool Championships will return to Bridlington.
The event, hosted by Bridlington Spa, is set to provide a major boost to tourism and the local economy in the town from Sunday 26 March to Wednesday 5 April.
Over 700 of Europe’s top blackball players from the UK, Ireland, Gibraltar, The Netherlands, Belgium, Malta, Australia, Mexico, South Africa & Catalonia will take part in one of the most highly regarded and eagerly anticipated events on the blackball circuit.
The jam-packed event includes competitions for seniors, juniors, youths and for people with learning difficulties. Organisers are encouraging spectators to turn up and watch the action with free entry for all sessions.
Adam Toes, tourism events and projects manager at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said:
“We are delighted to host a wide range of events in Bridlington over the coming months which will provide a huge economic boost to the area. The European Blackball Pool Championships are a huge honour and, after a three-year hiatus, we’re glad to have them back in the East Riding.
“The team has been working tirelessly to ensure there are many fantastic events to get involved with this year, and there should be something for everyone to enjoy.”
