A North Yorkshire military museum has announced its full calendar of immersive events and living history weekends for the 2026 season alongside new ticket pricing.
Eden Camp, a modern military museum situated near Malton in North Yorkshire, has announced an action-packed 2026 season featuring a comprehensive list of events and activities designed to excite families, history buffs, and curious minds.
The award-winning museum offers a unique historical experience, set within the original buildings of a former World War Two Prisoner of War camp. Built in 1942, it is the only remaining prisoner of war camp in Britain where the original huts have been preserved and transformed into engaging displays.
The newly revealed calendar includes a variety of special events and living history weekends. The season will feature a Drive it Day for classic cars on the 26th of April, followed by a May Half Term Tank Week running from the 23rd to the 31st of May.
During the summer months, the venue will host a Modern Military Weekend on the 6th and 7th of June, and a World War One Living History Weekend on the 12th and 13th of July. The summer holidays will also see a special 'Women at War' feature running from the 18th of July until the 1st of September, concluding with a 'Homefront Heroes' Living History Weekend on the 30th and 31st of August.
As the year progresses, visitors can look forward to a 'Back to the 1940s' event on the 10th and 11th of October, an October Half Term Spy Week from the 24th to the 29th of October, and a Halloween Street event to round off the month from the 30th of October to the 1st of November.
Museum representatives say that from tanks and military vehicles to authentic re-enactments, the full calendar provides a unique, immersive experience in a historic setting.
Alongside the new events, the museum is introducing better value admission prices for those who pre-book online. Adult tickets are priced at £17 when pre-booked online compared to £20 on the day. Tickets for children aged five to sixteen are £15 online and £18 on the day, with concession and family tickets also available.
Museum Manager at Eden Camp, Nick Hill, said:
"Our 2026 programme is looking fantastic - from our large scale Living History Weekends to hands-on activities for families during school holidays, there’s something new to discover each time you visit.
"We can’t wait to welcome you to Eden Camp this year, and our new pricing means there’s even more reason to plan ahead!"
The museum's huts have been re-equipped to tell the story of the social history of life in Britain from 1939 to 1945, which includes a new Blitz experience located in Hut 5. Each exhibit aims to showcase the resilience, sacrifice, and spirit of those who lived through the challenging times.
The preservation of the site was recently supported by £224,000 in funding from North Yorkshire Council, allocated from the UK Shared Prosperity Funding, which was used to restore the original 1942 huts.
The site's extensive collection includes historic military vehicles and an archive containing over 103,000 documents, artefacts, and photographs. The attraction, operated by Continuum Attractions, welcomed over 100,000 visitors in 2023 and typically hosts over 25,000 children each year for formal educational visits.
