Families in the East Riding who are eligible for free school meals are being encouraged to take up the offer.
East Riding Council has been working to identify households that qualify and to encourage take up.
Council Communities Director Paul Bellotti says they have written to over 300 families, he's encouraging people to open the letters.

The council's cabinet member for education - Councillor Victoria Aitken - says helping families obtain the free school meals is offering both big savings to the families involved and an extra £500,000 of funding for East Riding Schools.
