But health bosses say the situation remains serious and urge vigilance in the fight against the virus.
The number of people being treated for COVID-19 in North Yorkshire's hospitals is beginning to fall, although patient numbers still remain higher than during the first wave last year
440 people are in hospital across the county, 50 are in intensive care.
42 people are currently being treated for COVID in Scarborough Hospital, that's a decrease of 10 patients in the last week.
Amanda Bloor from the NHS in the county says the fall is encouraging but that the situation is still very serious and the public need to remain vigilant.
Amanda says the numbers of patients remain high and they are still seeing new admissions on a daily basis.
