Cricket Season Ends With Whimper For Relegated Folkton & Flixton

The villagers were beaten on the final day to finish bottom of Premier 2.

Folkton & Flixton chose to bat first, at Carlton Towers, but were skittled for 130.

Tom Norman made a determined 50, but only two other batsmen reached double figures as the innings closed after 39 overs.

Towers then raced home by eight wickets within 15 overs.

Bridlington put hosts Londesborough Park in to bat first, in the same division.

Park were bowled out for 190 in the penultimate over, Ben Traves took 4/50.

But Brid then slumped to 127 all out in less than 27 overs.

Sam Wragg top scored with 33 as the visitors fell 63 runs short.

Scarborough finish 7th in Championship East after a 95-run thumping at Welton.

Boro won the toss and put the hosts in only to concede 311/3 from 50 overs.

Brad Milburn was the pick of the bowlers with 2/54.

Boro then stumbled to 216/9 before the rain came after 38 overs.

Dan Artley hit 59, with Tom Bussey making 50.

In the same division, Pickering lost by 61 runs at Brandesburton.

The home side made 183 all out in the 45th over.

Dan Hardey and Kieran Boyes took three wickets each.

Pickering were then skittled for just 122 after 42 overs.

Hardey top-scored with 36.

Malton & Old Malton finished fourth despite a three-wicket defeat at Pocklington.

Malton chose to bat first but made just 131 all out inside 40 overs.

Pocklington just about got home, as Adam Spaven took 4/36.

Driffield 2nds bucked the trend as they beat South Holderness by eight wickets.

South were bowled out for just 121, in the 44th over. 

Jack Oakley took 3/32.

Town then strolled to victory led by Kevin Woodcock's unbeaten 53.

Whitby finish fifth in North Yorkshire South Durham Division Two after an eight-wicket loss of their own.

Hosts Rockliffe Park put them in and rolled Whitby over for 147 inside the 50th over- Rhys Buck made 44.

The Middlesbrough side then eased home in the 31st over despite wickets from Tom Steyert and Mike Thompson.
