As the town continues to struggle to recruit dentists, issues facing the children in Bridlington have been raised with the NHS.
Concerns have been raised about the availability of dental treatment for children in Bridlington.
The NHS has struggled to find dentists to work in the town.
East Riding Councillor for Bridlington North - Councillor Mike Heslop-Mullens - says the situation is getting desperate.
"If you dial NHS to ask for a dentist, you'll probably be given one between fifty and a hundred miles away from Bridlington. It is difficult and I really do feel that this is one of the areas that's causing the most concern.
We have children that aren't getting to see dentists, and the health of those children is not going to improve, and you may actually have more emergency operations happening in Scarborough because of the infections that they may get by not having their teeth looked at."
The NHS says steps are being taken to improve dental services for Children in Bridlington.
Russell Wenn from the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board says additional efforts have been made to make sure the town's youngsters are getting access to dental care.
"There are public health initiatives that take place within the schools in Bridlington.
Over the last 18 months the ICB has introduced a , prevention, access and treatment scheme, which reinforces that oral health perspective around supervised toothbrushing but also enhances that with application of fluoride vanishing.
We've had our first school in Bridlington that's taken up that initiative.
And if children are found to be in need of support we will get them access to a dentist. That probably won't be in Bridlington, but at the very least they'll be getting some of that application of fluoride vanishing, which will be a significant protective factor for them."
