Filey is going to see a major programme of improvements, that's the commitment from the borough council after Filey Councillor Mike Cockerill raised concerns over the progress of regeneration projects in the town.
The borough council has allocated one million pounds to an investment plan for the town. It comes after both Scarborough and Whitby received multi-million pound awards from the Government's town deal fund - a scheme which Filey could not apply for.
While there has been good progress on projects in Scarborough and Whitby, Councillor Cockerill is worried that local government reorganisation could happen before Filey gets it's projects delivered.
Councillor Cockerill is concerned that if local government reorganisation happens before the plans are signed off the money could be lost, he asked Borough council Leader Steve Siddons for reassurance and received this response.
