North Yorkshire Police says it is taking active steps to address issues raised after a National Child Protection report found serious issues in the forces procedures.
The inspection last November said the standard of investigations in to child protection matters was poor.
Chief Constable Lisa Winward, says they accept the findings and are already working on solutions.
North Yorkshire's Chief Constable is asking the public to continue to trust in the force's child protection services after the inspection found it to be lacking.
The report was published in March, Chief Constable Lisa Winward says the force has already made changes.
