There's lots to find in Whitby this weekend.
You can find out more about Whitby's history this weekend.
Whitby Civic Society is behind the annual look at the town's heritage.
It's secretary is Katherine Norrby:
"We've got the Victoria Spa building opening up. This was bought by Mr. Pannett and opened up as a spa. It's normally close to the public, so that one's quite a special place to visit. We've also got Mr. Pannett's house opening up. It's the house he built and it's still got an original Victorian bath bathroom within it.
"On the same street. The Masonic Hall is opening its doors, and we've also got a Georgian mansion and two of the Fisherman's Cottages and the associated yard opening up. Everything's free. We've also got associated buildings opening up, which is a majority of the churches, but these are normally open to the public, but their architecture is stunning and there's volunteers there as well."
Katherine is hoping Whitby people support the celebration of the town's history:
"It's important that locals support this, that locals get an opportunity to see in. It's open for everyone, but it's not, it's not for tourists.
"This is for locals to see inside their local houses and maybe get involved with us.
"We've got 24 blue plaques at the moment. We're on a temporary pause because we've got so many of them for the size of the town.
"We produce a booklet as well that gives a tour around the town following the blue plaques, and each of them has a historic post about them telling you a bit more information. And that, again, that's for tourists, but that's for locals as well. So you can see around. See what's there and look into the history of the town."
