A former Bridlington GP is calling for better end of life care in Bridlington.
Doctor Anthony Clarke is chair of the Bridlington Health Forum.
He says that currently some residents are sadly dying too far away from their families.
The official NHS website listing Palliative care services in the Bridlington area suggests that the closest facility is the St Mary's Centre in Hull.
Dr Clarke says that currently patients from Bridlington are being looked after by palliative care nurses at Scarborough Hospital.
The 12-bed Macmillan Wolds Unit at Bridlington Hospital, which gave end-of-life care, closed in 2018 despite 25,000 people signing a petition to keep it open.
